A-Z of Restaurants in Bath

black line Martini
"Definitely captures the imagination of Bathonians in search of tasty, sturdy, comforting treats."

Like many of dear old Lady Bath’s favourite watering holes, Martini has been on George Street for what feels like forever – and probably little about it has changed as time’s rolled along. Whether that’s a good or bad thing depends, it seems, on the day/evening you choose to visit; reports and feedback vary widely in terms of quality of the food. But when it comes to ambience, a cheery welcome awaits you beyond those big, double-fronted picture windows, while a range of cosy/party-on dining areas,  flirty waiters and vast, diet-busting portions come as standard. While it may not be a wholly authentic selection by today’s Antonio Carluccio-led standards, the menu (pastas, risottos, fishy/meaty grills etc)  captures the imagination of many regulars who prefer their sturdy, comforting treats not too far removed from the stuff that mamma actually makes at home – which again, can be a good or bad thing, depending on the individual mamma.
