A-Z of Restaurants in Bath

While contemporary foodies expect the ‘fusion’ idiom to translate into something Wagamamama-esque, Hon Fusion takes a far simpler route, relying on what foodies now refer to as the ‘traditional Chinese’ formula. Familiar dishes such as crispy duck, satay chicken skewers, spare ribs and variations on the black or yellow bean/ginger and spring onion/chow mein theme feature heavily on the menus, but there are enough interesting variations (Clay Pot aubergine, Ma Po/Pi Pa tofu, whole steamed seabass, etc) to keep those in search of a Far Eastern odyssey happy too – overall, the feasts on offer can generally be described as fresh, well executed and very reasonably priced Cantonese classics. While the owners are yet to make their own mark on the rather utilitarian landscape left behind by the previous owners, any lack of character is more than compensated for by the cheerful vibe, and while service can be a little, erm, eclectic, charm goes large here.
