A-Z of Restaurants in Bath
Monday 6th February 2012
The oldest established Chinese restaurant in Bath offers a kitsch experience, with décor that blends the past four decades into one. The chefs don’t attempt to speak today’s foodie language of MSG-free local organics and nor do the menus try to blind you with the kind of pan-Asian geo-culture lectures that contemporary versions of the genre tend to thrust at us these days. But what The Peking does, it does quite well: reasonably priced Brit-trad Chinese food in reasonably comfortable surroundings, but be warned: the waiters can be unreasonably surly for no apparent reason. See if you can earn yourself a warm welcome by opting for the restaurant’s legendary signature dish Peking Duck: it costs £38.95, can be shared by up to four people, and must be ordered 24 hours in advance.

Food was very nice , yet very over priced we had a starters each and a main course, a beer and a small glass of wine and it came to just under £90!!! Nice but not that nice!!!
Lacklustre chow mein and surly service. Shame on the Peking!
