A-Z of Restaurants in Bath
Monday 6th February 2012
This pretty little vegetarian bistro recently celebrated its 22nd birthday, but don’t expect to enter a trip-back-in-time zone here. Both food and décor constantly evolve and sparkle with colourful innovation, and it conveniently opens for the kind of ‘real’ breakfasts often hard to find in the middle of tourist-central Bath. If the ‘V’-word puts you off, lunchtime is the best time to sample smaller versions of the evening menus (which are as far removed from the old-school veggie/vegan image of dull but wholesome grain-based dishes as you can get) and at tea time, cakes can only be described as fabulous. But really, dinner is where it’s at — what the demuths kitchen can do with quinoa, polenta and chickpeas has to be tasted to be believed. On the downside, the bistro can look, feel and sound a bit like the Late Review green room (yes, this is a distinctly middle-class zone). But after a couple of glasses of organic wine, you’ll feel right at home.

My favourite Bath restaurant – it’s a must whenever we go to Bath for a weekend.
Try their cookery courses too!
