I beg to differ. I recently opted for what the Garrick's confidently call 'The Best Fish and Chips in Bath' (the statement was even written on a chalk board outside the pub on the evening we visited) and ended up paying £9.95 for a slab of the blandest, watery, totally taste-free fish (coley? Hake? Even the staff weren't sure...) I've ever encountered, accompanied by potato wedges (they're good, but they're NOT chips) and a massive pile of salad. Salad! With fish and chips? No, no, no. Buyer (and those seduced by 'Best...' claims) beware. PS. The burgers are brilliant, though. Perhaps the Garrick's should change that chalk board? Excellent fish and chips? I beg to differ.
