A-Z of Restaurants in Bath
Sunday 5th September 2010
What was once the tiny, cluttered cheese cafe above Paxton and Whitfield is now a small but perfectly formed, sparklingly glamorous bar specialising in gourmet-led ‘modern tapas’ (beautifully presented, taster-sized dishes made from distinctly gourmet ingredients) alongside excellent wines and cocktails. Think Maria Carey’s backstage VIP area meets the hedonistic glamour of Studio 54 and you’re there. And why wouldn’t you want to be? Minibar is chic, unique and very, very stylish. One wouldn’t call it credit-crunch friendly, but when it comes to an unforgettable experience like this, you certainly get what you pay for.

This is a quirky little place in a great location. I was amazed at the warm welcome and speedy service. The food is original but still simple and quite honestly delicious!
Went there hurriedly before a film and still made it to the trailers!
A sure keeper. Bravisimo!!
Gavin obviously knows his tapas Benisdorm style. Modern Spanish tapas involve a lot of fusion cuisine and if he goes to any tapas bar in Spain worth their salt, he will find hoisin, wasabe and ginger used in many dishes.
I encountered brusque service, a hurried dining experience and lots of deep fried food. If you want authentic tapas, not chicken in hoisin sauce (I kid you not) then Minibar is not the place for you.
