A-Z of Restaurants in Bath

The signpost on the picturesque, pub-lined A431 (Bath to Bristol) that promises to send you to ‘Beach’ may be misleading to all those – the Pig included – who have a less-than-firm grasp on geography. But while swimming costumes and towels may be completely unnecessary accessories should you venture down Marshfield Lane, the need for a bucket and spade is not entirely negated.
PJ’s Farm – PJ, as in brothers Peter and Jamie – is home to a rare breed of pig known as the British Lop. According to a recent survey conducted by the British Lop Society, these sweet little piggies are an endangered breed…a threat that represents huge concern for those with a discerning palate. The PJ brothers produce a small but perfectly formed variety of handmade sausages, bacon, ham and various cuts of pork (including roasting joints and tenderloin), all of which combine to inspire and delight fans of the even-toed ungulate’s foodie by-product.
If you can’t hoof along to the farm itself, find PJ produce in Bath Farmers’ Market every weekend (the pork burgers are particularly popular for the forthcoming barbecue season). Or do as the brothers do to us, and follow them on twitter (www.twitter.com/PJsFarm) for new outlets and updates.
