If, like The Pig, you’ve never met a chocolate that you didn’t like, prepare to make lots of new friends on the weekend of December 5th/6th. Those obliging angels at the upmarket retail grotto that is Milsom Place promise that this year’s annual Chocolate Festival – the fourth of its kind – will be the biggest and best yet (let alone the most calorific!). The kids will love meeting the makers behind posh chocolatiers such as Rococo of London, sweet-stuff newbies Affectionary and the aptly-named Choco Chic while mum gets up close and personal with delicious Damien Allsop (the molecular gastronomist of the chocolate world) before filling everybody’s stockings with those all-important sweet treats and edible gifts for Christmas. Chocolate may not actually make the world go round, but it certainly makes the ride worthwhile.
