Let them eat cupcake

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

There’s no doubt about it: cupcakes are food world’s new black. And The Pig is especially loving those from Bath’s Country Cupcakes, now available from the corner of the Rachel Lilley Flower School in Walcot Street (itself one of the city’s most heavenly hangouts). Fans of Vianne Rocher’s confectionary haven in the film/book Chocolat will feel right at home here – breathe in the aroma of fresh petals and baking combined as you browse the most charmingly pretty incarnations of the cupcake genre you can imagine, all with either a classic natural vanilla or double chocolate sponge base. Fancy having a go yourself? Baker Nikki runs regular cupcake decorating classes on selected dates. All the glitter, sprinkles, butter icing and gift boxes you need to create your own bespoke beauties are included in the £65 fee.
