Hay! Have you heard?Tuesday, October 20th, 2009
Super-pretty country pub and destination diner The Wheatsheaf in Combe Hay (full review to appear on these pages very soon) have put together a timetable of events guaranteed to put a spring in your step. While they can’t expect dragons, patriots will appreciate the St George’s Day Feast on Thursday 23 April (English produce, English wine and a special English gift from the Wheatsheaf’s award-winning chef Lee Evans). There’s a Bank Holiday Monday Gourmet Brunch on Monday 4 May and on Thursday 18 June ladies who lunch will love the Wheatsheaf version of Ascot Ladies Day Royal Enclosure. Personally, the Pig is holding out for the Gourmet Wine Dinner on Thursday 9 July, with wines from the unique Chateau Léoville-Barton vineyard estate. Summer lovin’ indeed.
