Those lovely folk at the Marlborough Tavern are a humble lot. They’ve only just ‘gone public’ on the fact that, back in November last year, they were awarded an AA Rosette: the food world’s equivalent of winning a place in Cruft’s ‘Best in Show’ category. In the AA’s own words, their inspectors make this award to “excellent restaurants that stand out in their local area: food is prepared with care, understanding and skill, using good quality ingredients” – exactly what The Pig’s being saying about the MT for ages! The rosette is a huge compliment to the work done by MT head chef Richard Knighting and his team, including those responsible for service, who earned a special mention in their own right from the AA inspector.
Want to sample the MT’s award-winning formula for yourself? Enjoy a special four course set menu accompanied by wines especially selected to complement each course on Wednesday 24th February (£29.50pp, including wine). Or make the most of the Early Diner offer: 25% off the total bill for those who choose to dine before 7pm Mon-Thur.
