Asparagus ravioli, leek, herb and pea risotto with homegrown mint, Tymsboro goats cheese salad, Cornish crab cakes… the new menus at Gascoyne Place really do personify West Country summer on a plate. But if you’re not up to going the whole a la carte hog, the fresh ’n’ lively lunchtime menu (£10 for two courses) for full-on seasonal treats. And, in response to the demands of the merry band of regulars who make GP their home for the regular Sunday evening jazz sessions, the swingin’ head honchos now proudly present live music on Thursday evenings too. Best enjoyed with a sumptuous sharing platter (The Pig personally recommends the seafood selection) and a bottle of Chateau de la Tuilerie rosé, we say.
