At last, there’s a local business in one of the SouthGate shopping complex’s brand new units – and it’s dedicated to one of The Pig’s favourite treats! Cake Café is the brainchild of foodie entrepreneurs Poppy Clark and Mark Powell, who have run the charming Bridge Coffee Shop on Pulteney Bridge since 2008. Their new café specialises in cakes made to traditional English recipes alongside morning coffee, light lunches and cream teas, and everything on the menu is handmade by artisan suppliers and producers using locally sourced ingredients. If Poppy and Mark’s proven track record at the Bridge Coffee Shop is anything to go by, SouthGate shoppers are in for a scrumptious treat.
