A hugely important day in the French national calendar, the annual ‘Fête Nationale’ commemorates the day in 1789 when France overthrew the monarchy and the French Republic was inaugurated. Today, the festival is commemorated worldwide – and here on our doorstep. Expect a lovely little corner of Bath to turn into a Provençal paradise to jolly up your July when Bastille Day comes to the Heritage City; se défouler and celebrate with Casanis on Wednesday 14 and enjoy all manner of properly French-themed treats and events.
