The summer holidays are almost over, but there’s still time to treat horse-obsessed youngsters to a dream day out. The HorseWorld ‘Groom for a Day’ experience offers an opportunity for young people to join their Equine Welfare Team and starts with a morning spent mixing feed for the 100+ horses in the centre’s care, checking on their welfare and making a note of their progress. After lunch, the afternoon is spent with the Equine Training Team, observing the techniques that are used to transform neglected and often challenging horses so that they can be re-homed with loving new families. Lunch and a guest ticket for the Visitor Centre is included in the £100 fee, but for horse lovers, this magical experience is priceless – and may well be the start of a richly rewarding career.
