We’ve endured the scaffolding, ooh-ed and aah-ed at the recently-revealed, glamorous canopy and greatly missed the Peter Hall Season, usually an annual highlight of the Theatre Royal’s summer season. But on Tuesday 7 September, one of the country’s oldest working theatres will be back in the spotlight. The first show of the newly-refurbished auditorium will be a TRB Production of Richard Brinsley Sheridan’s 18th century Bath-based comedy of manners ‘The Rivals’, directed by Peter Hall (hoorah!) and starring Penelope Keith and Peter Bowles. The show kicks off a lavish autumn season, and goes on all the way through to Saturday 18 September.
Curtain up at last!
