Despite its rather inconvenient shape, the bagel is quite possibly the world’s favourite sarnie alternative. And this friendly little deli offers the real McCoy, spiked with seeds, cinnamon and raisin, cheese and jalapeno peppers or au naturel, all straight from the oven and filled to order. The holey rolls themselves are cholesterol-, preservative-, GM- and additive-free, and contain almost no fat — but then you go and spoil it all by adding cream cheese and smoked salmon for the full-on NYC experience (well, who wouldn’t?). Fresh salads, freshly made soup and sweet treats complete the lunch-to-go selection but, unfortunately, the freshly baked, naked versions have to be eaten on the day of purchase, which means that only the early birds can enjoy them for breakfast.

Really nice lunch alternative but never could justify the extra cost on a daily basis. (Though I’m sure many do). A good treat then.
